My friend and I celebrated her birthday with a cheeky gin and wonderful food from the extensive menu. We were in Brasserie, which is a cosy space for when the restaurant is hosting an event. The waiting staff were polite, friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the different gins. The food was delicious. We will definitely return and recommend to family and friends.

We had our wedding meal at the Old Bell and everything was perfect. It was a small wedding but we seated 23 people comfortably in half of the restaurant. Charlotte and all of the staff were fantastic, welcoming, pleasant and polite, the service was second to none throughout the whole afternoon and evening. Everyone enjoyed their meals which were all served together, warm and good size portions, drinks were kept topped up and nobody went without. We would highly recommend the Old Bell to anyone who is thinking of having a smaller or similar size party. Thank you everyone from Jane and Mike xx

First time of going there and we turned up not thinking to book a table. Thankfully, they were really accommodating and found us a table in the window. We settled down and our drinks order was taken quickly and we were given the menus. We both settled on their Sunday lunch, 1 beef and 1 pork belly. I kid you not, this was easily the BEST Sunday roast I’ve ever had. We ordered 2 of the sides, Cauliflower cheese & the pork & cranberry stuffing with pigs in blankets. It was a really decent sized portion, really well seasoned (didn’t bother with salt & pepper on it) Could have quite easily walked away after that with a full belly and a smile on my face, but we decided to get 2 desserts and share them. We had the Apple & Peach Crumble aswell as the sticky toffee pudding. Oh my gawd! They were stunning! I honestly don’t have one bad word to say. The food, the staff, the atmosphere... they were all spot on! For 2 mains, 2 sides, 2 desserts and drinks, it cost us 65. We left a 15 tip as we thought it was worth it.

Past by the Old Bell Inn on my way to work in Manchester too many times to count. This time we arranged to meet friends and stay overnight. Very pleasant room with bath, shower and tea/ coffee etc. The bed was very comfortable and slept well. Had two courses for dinner (to full for desert) that we enjoyed all washed down with beers, gins and whisky. A gin emporium after all, some 1600 to choose from and is why Mine Host is listed in the Guinness Book of Records. Loverly Full English for breakfast, wifey chose from the plentiful other choices, but it's always a FE for me. Very comfortable guest lounge and balcony upstairs. Large dining room and bar area with all those gins lined about the walls. Collection of brandy and malts for those with a different taste and there are draft beers, lagers to choose from. Worth a visit and we will return. Return visit for drinks and chat, what's not to like.

Excellent food but portions seem a bit too large which seems to lead to waste.
